Welcome to the videos section!

The developers of this course spoke to a wide array of emergency responders. The intention was to provide you, the student, with some real examples of trauma, resiliency and coping strategies. Though their experiences will be unique to each profession and their own personal work history, each speaker has an extensive amount of front-line experience with trauma, stress, and each has employed various resiliency techniques throughout their career. Feel free to watch these videos at your leisure as you work through the text-component of the course.

Each video was structured in such a way so that the flow of each video was consistent with the others. More specifically, each video provides you with

  1. An introduction to the speaker and their experience
  2. What impact did the event have on the speaker
  3. What were the pieces that causes stress, strain, trauma, etc.
  4. How did they work through the trauma
  5. If they were to be able to go back in time, what would have they do differently, if anything

We have also included video clips from psychologists. Again, much like the other videos, these are structured in such a way where each clinician was asked to provide 2-3 key components to resiliency. Please make note of these suggestions as they may help you in the future.
